African Ambassadors’ Meeting in Washington, D.C. and Briefing by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs
On September 15, at the African Union House in Washington, D.C., Ambassador douale attended a meeting of African ambassadors and received a briefing from the Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.
The meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views and dialogue between the ambassadors and senior representatives of the U.S. Department of State on key issues affecting Africa and U.S.-Africa relations.
The Honorable Frank Garcia, Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, highlighted several important priorities, including strengthening trade and commercial engagement between the United States and Africa, promoting peace and security across the African continent, and discussing the Administration’s position on the future of multilateral diplomacy.
The discussion underscored the importance of continued dialogue, partnership, and cooperation between the United States and African countries on shared priorities and challenges.
